A fine all brass English Flintlock box-lock pocket pistol engraved G.HILL, BOLTON. Circa 1800. The side-plate engraved "BOLTON" to one side and "G.HILL" to the other. Sliding top safety, drop down folding trigger, screw off brass barrel. British proof marks to the underside of the breech. Good working order and condition. Overall length of pistol is 6.5 inches. This is the type of pistol that would have been carried in a pocket or a saddle bag during the early part of the 19th century, by an English gentleman, traveller, or officer as a personal protection weapon. Very good condition. Ref 1399.
