A good .40 Calibre percussion side-hammer pocket pistol manufactured by Lill of Louth (Lincolnshire, England). Circa 1840. The screw-off blued octagonal 2.5 inch barrel engraved on the top with the makers name Lill Louth. Michael Lill had a workshop at Upgate, Louth Lincolnshire circa 1821-1835. Some engraving to the brass side plates. Stamped with two British proof marks to the breech & barrel. Finely chequered grips with silver octagonal shaped escutcheon. Overall length 7 inches. Action in good crisp working order. Some signs of wear and use, otherwise in very good condition. Retaining almost all of it's original blue to the barrel. Ref 4138.
