An American Civil War era Colt Army model 1860 .44 calibre percussion revolver. Manufactured in 1863. The 8 inch barrel engraved with the makers name Address Col Saml. Colt New York U.S. America. The frame is marked Colts patent. All matching serial numbers including the cylinder and wedge. The serial number records the year of manufacture as 1863 which was in the middle of the America Civil War. The Colt Model 1860 Army revolver saw widespread use, particularly during the American Civil War (1861-1865) which marked a production boom for the Colt Manufacturing Company. Overall length 13 inches. Nice crisp action. In good overall condition, retaining much of it's original blued finish and the cylinder scene is still visible. A true civil war era percussion revolver that almost certainly could have seen use during the American Civil War. Ref 3892.
