Probably Henry Cole of Hampshire who had a workshop at West Street in Alresford, circa 1851-1860. The pistols are both engraved with the makers name on the 9.5 inch octagonal barrels. The makers name "COLE" also engraved on the lock-plates. Very finely blued and engraved spurred trigger guards. The pistols both fitted with set-triggers. The barrels both marked underneath with two British proof marks. The set contained in a green baize lined wooden case with a plain brass folding handle to lid. The wooden oak case has seen some use and has minor scuffs and scratches to the case lid. An extremely fine pair of percussion pistols retaining almost all their original blued finish and showing hardly any signs of wear or use. The pistols 11 inches long. Case size 19 X 9 x 2.5 inches.
