A single barrel English flintlock pocket pistol by Wood of York. Circa 1815. The side plate engraved with the makers name Wood and on the other side York. Joseph wood had a workshop on 28 Spurrier gate, circa 1815- 1867.  Flat sided bag shaped walnut grip with a octagonal shaped escutcheon.  Stamped underneath with British proof marks. Drop down folding trigger. Sliding top safety. Overall length 6.5. inches. Action in good working order, some signs of minor wear and use during it's working life, generally very good condition. Ref 4140.
