A fine English Queen Anne style tap-action cannon barrel silver mounted double barrel flintlock pistol by Richards of London. Circa 1760-1820. Engraved on one side-plate with the maker's name RICHARDS. John Richards is listed as having had a workshop at 25 Strand, London circa 1760-1820. Silver grotesque mask butt cap with London silver hallmarks. London proof marks to the side of the breech. The two screw-off cannon barrels are four inches in length and are stamped 3 & 4 to the sides. The trigger guard slides forward to act as the safety. Overall length 11 inches. In good overall condition. A fine example of an English silver mounted Queen Anne style double-barrelled flintlock pistol. Ref 4409.
