A superb pair of English approx .69 cal Percussion pistols by Charles Osborne of LONDON. Circa 1840-1850. The 3 inch blued octagonal barrels fitted on top with a spring bayonet to both pistols. Charles Osborne had a workshop at 1 Litchfield Street, London, circa 1845-1855. The pistols are both fitted with a top mounted spring-bayonet. Finely chequered walnut grips with oval silver escutcheons fitted to the rear. Finely engraved butt-caps. London proof marks stamped to the breeches and barrels. Decorative engraved scrolling to the frames, trigger guards and dolphin shaped hammers. There are additional markings impressed to both barrels (APX 119-FX 73) almost certainly applied when they were probably exported from India ?  Actions in very good working order. In exceptionally good condition overall and retaining almost all of their original blued finish to the barrels. Overall length with blades folded is approx 8 inches. A fine example of a pair of English percussion pistols in almost like new condition, circa 1845. Ref 3956.
