A Superb and very long German high quality single barrel flintlock pistol manufactured by P. BECHER A WULTZBURG. circa 1740. The 14 inch brass barrel is engraved on top with the town name WULTZBURG. The makers name P. BECHER is engraved on the brass lock-plate. The butt cap, side-plate, ramrod pipes and trigger guard all made of brass and embossed with figures amid foliage. The pistol in excellent condition. Barrel length 14 inches. Some minor surface ageing to the metal parts, otherwise a superb high quality example of this German gun-makers work from the mid 18th century. Overall length approx 21.5 inches. Ref 3999.
