A rare pair of English silver mounted flintlock pistols by COLLUMBELL. Circa 1735-1765. Both lock plates engraved COLLUMBELL. The 8 inch iron barrels Stamped with British proof marks & engraved on top Collumbell London. (David Collumbell had a workshop in London at Parliament street circa 1735-1765).  Calibre approx .58 cal. Iron trigger-guards and matchung iron ram-rod pipes, silver side plates, silver escutcheons, and silver grotesque butt-masks which are marked with the London silver hall-mark as well as a London date letter.  Horn tipped wooden ram-rods.  Overall length of the pistols is 14 inches. Good crisp working actions.  These are the type of pistols that could have been carried by an officer or a gentleman during the era of the Napoleonic wars. Ref 4165.
