A rare pair of English Queen Anne silver mounted cannon barrelled flintlock pistols. Circa 1760. Two London proof marks struck underneath the breeches. The maker's name and town is engraved under the pan and is now very faint, it is engraved ''HAWKS OXFORD''. (William Hawks of Oxford). Silver shield shaped escutcheons engraved with a Fleur-de-Lis family crest. Would benefit from further research into this family crest. Silver grotesque mask butt caps. 6.5 inch cannon barrels. Silver stand of arms side plate. Both actions in good working condition. Overall lengths 12 inches. A fine pair of English silver mounted Queen Anne flintlock pistols with family crests. Ref 3732.
